As a teacher of TOEFL test prep classes, I have to say that it is hard to find a book out there that details reading strategies as brilliantly as Kathy Spratt does in her book. She breaks down each reading question, outlines a clear approach, and indicates the possible traps in the answer choices. This book helps students recognize traps so they can eliminate them and more quickly select the correct answer choice. In this book, the student will learn how to recognize TOEFL trap patterns and consequently, increase their score. There are plenty of practice questions that clearly illustrate each point. I highly recommend this book for TOEFL reading section. It’s an amazing book, you don’t need any other source for reading section if you are using this book. You have to just follow the writers instructions. Each section is very well explained and provided with lot of practice sections.

Excellent and concise. Each question type is laid out and explained clearly. Unlike most TOEFL books, this one was much more student friendly. While most TOEFL books seemed to be geared toward teachers and courses, this one was like a guidebook for TOEFL students studying on their own. Highly recommended.

A wonderful overview of the reading section of the TOEFL. While many popular TOEFL textbooks are terribly out of date, this book accurately reflects the most recent changes to the test. Each chapter of the book covers one question type and provides strategies for answering them, a list of "traps" used by ETS to trick students, and a healthy amount of sample questions to illustrate the provided techniques. The book ends with a complete practice set and answer key. Highly recommended.
